As the breeder, it is nice to see the "Perky Berkies" doing so well at their new farm. Plenty more piglets are on the way and will be looking for a forest home. :) Congrats on the new sausage venture. Thank you for chosing our Berkshires as part of your forest pork program.

Great article Rebecca. I read today that the average American eats 66.5 pounds of beef per year. A switch from grain-fed beef to grass-fed beef saves 17,733 calories per year.

Congratulations! Thought I would mention that two new restaurants are opeing in Lewisburg, WV. One, already opened, is Stella's Tea House and the other is a steak house that will be called The Livery (I think) opening on Washington Street in the future. Both are owned and operated by the Perilli family.
I mentioned your products to Tammy Perilli, owner/operator of Stella's, the other day. They are using local products as much as possible.
Hope this is helpful!
Also, from a horse side of things. I learned of a ministry (new to me) at www.ridinghighministries.org. Thought you all might find the info interesting too.
Have a blessed day! And, thank you for the blessing of safe food!

The Coopestoga is very cool .... I am looking for inspiration to build a mobile shade and milking structure (maybe 8' X 10'?) for my family cow (a Jersey named Dawn). I am wondering how you attached the hoops to the base of the wagon and if you think it could be adapted to a lightweight setup with the hoops attached to skids -- I'm thinking the skids could be fastened to each other with SS chain across front and back (I am hoping to move this using human power since we don't own a truck or tractor). I would plan to "stake" the structure much like a tent so it won't blow away! Any info or ideas would be welcome. Thanks!
