Open for Riding DaySaturday and Sunday, June 14th and 15th 2007 Kelly Sigler, 2 star Parelli instructor and the riding instructor at the Biltmore in Asheville, NC, skillfully led the Level 1 and Level 2 clinic. Eleven students and their horses participated. Each day the Level 1 students played from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. The Level 2 session was from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. Each session began with students going through simulations on the ground without their horses, proceeded to on line work with the horses and then on to mounted exercises. What a wonderful group! It was a pleasure to see. Auditors arrived from all over - Virginia, West Virginia and Tennessee. Over 40 auditors attended Saturday and 25 came on Sunday. We hope these delightful people will return with their own horses to play. Congratulations to Dow Strader (Bristol TN), Shawn Ray (Broadway, VA) and Sharon Steele (Boston, VA). Great job!! Broadview Ranch offers a wide variety of obstacles to use as 'toys', barrels, cones, balls, tarps, hoops, pedestals, poles, round pen, etc. Obstacles on the cross country course were used both on line and mounted, giving students and opportunity to work with the water jump, logs, ditches, hills, etc. For the last 'toy' of the day, Level 2 students introduced their horses to a herd of calves. This really helped with confidence and focus as well as being great fun. Besides on line and mounted work, Kelly gave a wonderful liberty demonstration with two of her horses. Due to the excitement generated by this clinic the next clinic (Level 1 & 2) has already been scheduled. Mark October 13th and 14th on your calendar. In addition we will be holding a Parelli tournament on the preceding Friday, October 12th. We will be hosting Play Days so we can practice. "This is the best organized, best run clinic.
