Map and Compass Trail Ride

The Map and Compass Trail Ride was a great success. The day was bright and beautiful, the wildflowers were everywhere & the dogwood and red bud were magnificent. We had eight riders and several others who came to observe. It made a perfect family outing. We had a mother & daughter riding together and a father & son team as well.

Learning to use a compass and map to navigate was found to be easier than expected by all participants - most likely because of the excellent instruction given by Olin Bare. From 12 year olds to "old enough not to ask", everyone found it well within their capabilities to find their way. It was a relaxing and fun way to ride new trails. And no - no one got lost.

We hope to have more rides like this in the future. If you are interested let us know.
