Western Hunt

The Rockbridge Hunt hosted a foxhunt at Broadview Ranch with western riders invited to come and join in . Western Day was a LOT of fun. Though we enjoyed a beautiful fall day, the hunting wasn't great. Oh well, just a wonderful day on your horse riding beautiful trails with old and new friends. Even a bad days hunting .....

At least ten western riders -- a few locals and several from near Richmond joined the regular field of riders. If you are interested in foxhunting or know of a group that would like a program on foxhunting please contact Carol Atwood.

Parelli Play Day with the New Patterns

Our play day on August 23rd was so successful that we have been asked to repeat it on September 6th.

Let's explore the new Parelli Patterns together.

There are four dvds etc., one for each savvy. All the new material will be available for review.

We will set up and expand our Natural Horsemanship playground so we have everything necessary (toys, props etc.) to do every task at every level on the Self Assessment Checklist now available on the savvy club website.

Rockbridge Hunt Pony Club holds Foxhunting Clinic

The Rockbridge Hunt Pony Club held a foxhunting clinic at Broadview Ranch on Saturday, August 30.

A discussion of conditioning was led by Kathy Eichelberger, DVM followed by a mounted clinic led by Terry Whitmore and Cindy Morton.

This was followed by a wonderful lunch cooked by Pony Club dad, Steve Paulk and a "popcorn chase", where pony clubbers got to work as hounds following the scent.

We have ordered the new Parelli Patterns and we want to share. This will give you a chance to get a real hands on look at the Patterns while the introductory sale is still on.

The Natural Horsemanship playground will be set up with everything necessary (toys, props etc.) to do every task at every level on the Self Assessment Checklist.

Saddle Fitting with Ann Mary Bettenson

Ann Mary Bettenson, a Master Saddlers Association Certified Saddle Fitter and Flocker, is meeting a client at Broadview Ranch on Saturday, August 16th. She has time for some additional saddle fittings. If you would like an appointment call Carol Atwood at 540-463-1000.

After your saddle fitting stay and take a ride. Schooling is available on the cross country course, stadium jumps and dressage ring as well as the Natural Horsemanship area. All our trails are available as well.
